Tell Us What Your Fireplace Is Doing
When your note reaches us, someone on the Pacific Palisades desk rings you and asks about the fireplace before anything else. Does smoke roll out at the top of the opening or only when a door opens? Does the room smell on warm days, after rain, or all the time? Is it wood or gas, and does the flame lift, flicker or go out? Those answers decide whether we bring the sweep kit, the camera, damper parts or gas meters, and whether the visit is a sweep, a draft check or a repair. If you notice a headache or dizziness near a gas fireplace, shut it off, open windows and call your gas utility first, then us. Have any gate code ready and keep the fireplace cold for a few hours before we arrive so we can test it properly.

Haze hanging under the ceiling?
Stop adding wood, crack a window, and ring the desk. Haze and gas-odor calls get the earliest same-day slots.
